One day there were two Zebras who fell in love and decided to marry each other. For their wedding ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Zebra announced that whoever gets the most beautiful wedding gown would be rewarded with food supplies so everybody in the jungle joined. The couple wanted the best outfit for their one and only event. The cunning fox, gave advice to paint Mr. Z into green like a lizard and paint Mrs. Z into gold like a lion. However, both of them disliked the way each of them looked. So they decided black, as their final choice. As Mr. and Mrs. Zebra tried to ameliorate the outfit, they both had an instantaneous thought, “Stripes!” they shouted together. So they each soaked themselves in stripes and went to their wedding. Everyone at the party loved their new creation and praised it! The couple got plenty of compliments by their friends in the jungle, even the lion! Soon, like a trend, all the Zebras around the world were doing it too. After awhile, when Mr. and Mrs. Zebra got tired of stripes, they tried to wash the paint off. However, they found that the paint had sunk in well beyond their fur and was impossible to wash it off. To this day, none of the zebras were able to get their stripes off, and that is why they have black stripes!
